Before you read another word, open another account, or make one more investment, you need to know exactly where you're standing.
You can't navigate to generational wealth without knowing your current coordinates.
That's why the comes first. It's the most important exercise in this manual, because everything that follows is built on the truth about your starting point. Skip it, and the rest of this book is wishful thinking. Do it, and the rest becomes engineering.
do not guess. They measure. They do not hope. They audit. And they do it first, always.
What the Honest Audit Is
It's a no-fluff snapshot of your financial reality, taken in one sitting, across six numbers:
- Net Worth. Total assets minus total liabilities.
- . Everything you spend in a month: fixed costs plus your average variable spending.
- Liquidity. Cash or cash equivalents you could reach within 48 hours.
- . The share of the last 90 days' spending that was mainly for image or other people's approval.
- (1–10). How little the people around you know about your money. 1 means everyone knows your numbers. 10 means almost no one does.
- (0–7). The number of "Yes" answers on the seven-item Structures checklist below.
Scoring note: on every 1–10 scale in this manual, 10 is best unless stated otherwise.
Why It Is Non-Negotiable
Most people live in a comfortable fog about their money. The Audit clears that fog in one sitting.
- You can't fix leaks you refuse to see.
- The gap between where you think you are and where you actually are is a hidden tax. It quietly keeps households from ever building real wealth.
- Every room, discipline, and strategy in this manual stands on this foundation.
How to Do It Right
- Block 60–90 minutes. No phone, no interruptions.
- Gather everything: bank and credit card statements, loan balances, investment and retirement accounts, insurance policies, and any legal documents.
- Write real numbers. No rounding and no "close enough."
- Calculate . Go through the last 90 days of transactions and mark every purchase you made mainly to be seen, impress someone, or keep up. Divide the marked total by your total spending for those 90 days.
- Complete the honestly. "I think so" counts as No.
- Feel whatever you feel. Discomfort is part of the medicine.
For Couples
Do the Audit together, at the same table, with every account open. No hidden cards and no "I'll handle mine later." First record the household numbers. If you keep separate accounts, also record each person's numbers. Then each of you scores Silence and Ego-Spend on your own before you compare. Where your numbers differ, that's your first conversation, not your first argument. Both of you sign.

How to Read Your Results
The numbers diagnose you. They don't judge you.
| Number | Reading |
|---|---|
| Net Worth | Your starting line. Negative, low, or solid, it only tells you how much work the system has to do. |
| Burn Rate | If it's high relative to income, look for or missing structure. |
| months | Under 1 = vulnerable · 1–5 = building (the 1-month is the floor while paying off debt) · 6 = a full Fortress |
| Over 15–20% = a clear leak · under 10% = growing discipline | |
| 1–4 = too exposed · 5–7 = average · 8–10 = | |
| Structures | Every "No" is a priority fix. |
Carrying high-interest debt? If any of your debt costs 8% or more, that's your first front. Start with Book 1 of library, Guerrilla Warfare Against Debt, then come back and build.
You aren't aiming for a perfect score today. You're aiming for an honest measurement you can beat every 90 days.
